Pajama Jeans & Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is Sunday and I purchased mom a pair of the Pajama Jeans. Hell yes, I laughed my ass off when I initially saw the commercial. But then again, mom’s always complaining about how uncomfortable her jeans are and how I need to go shopping with her to help purchase a new pair. Since I loathe the mall and only travel there around Christmas time to pick up last minute gifts, I have avoided the excursion. So, when pajama jeans ended up in my email box with the only decision of choosing either S, M, L, or XL, I figured sure, why not.

Happily, the pajama jeans arrived today just in time for the big day and of course I had to try these bitches on. And, hellsss yes, they are some comfiness. Could I actually be tempted to purchase a pair? Yes, but I think I’ll wait until I hit 60ish, and then they will become my wardrobe staple. There will be no matchy matchy purple and pink sweatsuits for me. By then, I bet they will have multi-styles. Wa-hooo… something to look forward too. But, seriously, could they have named them something a little less tacky like super comfy soft jeans or yoga jeans so I wouldn’t feel like such an @ss just saying the name? ‘Cause then, maybe I would buy a pair for myself now.

Project A-D-D

I have 6 programs going, 46 tabs open in Mozilla and at least 15 projects that I want to finish/start. I have project A-D-D. Working on today:

a silhouette of Tilda for my bedroom wall – pattern, no pattern, pattern in silhouette, pattern outside of silhouette, color, size…
new packaging for my jewelry designs – shall I silkscreen or heat transfer…hrm…
css for my new site design – why are my paragraphs gone, i need emmers quick!
finding some good recipes – this just makes me hungry
searching for frames – need a vintage oval i think
working on a sweet little birdie necklace-it’s starring at me and begging me to finish it.
working on an angel wing necklace – why are the stupid hearts not here yet?

I want at least 2 done by the end of the day and a few others in the works.

But maybe I should procrastinate and clean my desktop first…

Teamster’s Against Cancer Website Live!

Karalee Design’s just launched the Teamster’s Against Cancer website. The Teamster’s needed a re-design of their old site with a focus on finding sponsors, receiving donations and registering new participant’s in the bike challenges. Karalee Design’s cleaned up the navigation and gave the site a more professional appearance with unique and custom touches. The Teamster’s site now includes a rotating image gallery on the home page, a custom illustrated bike route of the Kancamagus Challenge, a bike illustration that shows up throughout the navigation, as well as a gallery section that the client can easily add photos too through Flickr.

Bedroom Decor

Spring is in the air jump starting my project list! First, I want to finish the bedroom decor. I snagged this image of a delicious room from West Elm and am using it as my inspiration without the West Elm price tag of about $2000. My goal is to keep it under $500 without losing the luxurious textures and design.

Here are the pieces I’m using to get the look:

I already have these items:

rug from Lowe’s
dark complimentary furniture from Pier One Imports
neutral paint color
Cameron window panels from Bed, Bath & Beyond

I have recently purchased these items:

bedding from West Elm (on clearance) – $95 for duvet, $15 each for 2 pillow shams
headboard from Pier One Imports (also on clearance) – $179
chocolate bed skirt from Target (creates the dark look below without the expensive price tag of buying a bed frame – also on sale) – $17.48
down comforter from Target (on sale) – $47.99
ceramic bust jewelry stand from Urban Outfitters (on sale and purchased with a GC) – $0

These items are left to purchase:

Westmore lighting fixture from Lowe’s (although I do love the shell chandelier in the inspiration image, I really want a crystal chandelier) – $84.04
art work for the wall (probably will make this myself)
throw pillows (I’m going to IKEA for cheapies – throw pillows have no purpose anyway – ask Ben Stiller from Along Came Polly)

I can’t wait to finish the room and photograph it! The living room is next.

Just finished another terrarium for a friends Christmas gift. I think I will call it “Chicken Worship.” Hope they like it! I see lots of terrariums in the studio for 2010. They are just too much fun to design.

I love to give gifts…

Especially the handmade kind…

Everyone got a terrarium. Seven incredibly different personalities and age groups and I think they all had fun choosing which one to take home. Good stuff. I need to make more!

Receiving presents is kinda cool too…

Look how nicely the new flatscreen fits in the studio.

Holiday Decor

I would like to add that I have never purchased a decoration. My family, both mom and dad, has strange uncontrollable urges to continue to purchase me massive amounts of Christmas decor.
