Project A-D-D

I have 6 programs going, 46 tabs open in Mozilla and at least 15 projects that I want to finish/start. I have project A-D-D. Working on today:

  • a silhouette of Tilda for my bedroom wall – pattern, no pattern, pattern in silhouette, pattern outside of silhouette, color, size…
  • new packaging for my jewelry designs – shall I silkscreen or heat transfer…hrm…
  • css for my new site design – why are my paragraphs gone, i need emmers quick!
  • finding some good recipes – this just makes me hungry
  • searching for frames – need a vintage oval i think
  • working on a sweet little birdie necklace-it’s starring at me and begging me to finish it.
  • working on an angel wing necklace – why are the stupid hearts not here yet?

I want at least 2 done by the end of the day and a few others in the works.

But maybe I should procrastinate and clean my desktop first…

Teamster’s Against Cancer Website Live!

Karalee Design’s just launched the Teamster’s Against Cancer website. The Teamster’s needed a re-design of their old site with a focus on finding sponsors, receiving donations and registering new participant’s in the bike challenges.  Karalee Design’s cleaned up the navigation and gave the site a more professional appearance with unique and custom touches. The Teamster’s site now  includes a rotating image gallery on the home page, a custom illustrated bike route of the Kancamagus Challenge, a bike illustration that shows up throughout the navigation, as well as a gallery section that the client can easily add photos too through Flickr.

Lipstick On Your Collar Told A Tale On You…

I survived the holiday show season and in the process introduced a fun new item. My handmade lip brooches should be sporting some jackets, sweaters and bags this winter season up in the Boston area. They are currently available in all different colors until I can narrow it down to a few favorites. Sneak a peak below and purchase them in my Etsy shop…mwah!

Camper Kart Project

I went to school with some seriously talented folks. It’s amazing to get a glimpse of what they are up to and how their work is developing over the years. I have to say, Facebook really is great tool for that “keeping in touch” thing that I suck so bad at. Anyway, a link popped up on my “home Facebook page” with a video showing the makings of a Camper Kart. A what? That’s right, I said a “Camper Kart: a pop-up camper affixed to a shopping cart. It’s a functioning sculptural piece that seeks to explore aspects of housing, mobility, and autonomy.” Um…click…

…pure freaking awesomeness. Kevin Cyr, the artist behind this soon to be masterpiece has already built the Camper Bike, which again equals pure freaking awesomeness, and this is his next endeavor. Feast, a nonprofit that supports new and emerging artists, has begun to fund Kevin on the Camper Kart, but it’s a big project and more funding is needed to complete it. And, here’s the deal, not only do you help out an artist on his way to building pure freaking awesomeness but, Kevin will send you a print based on your pledge amount. So now the decision comes down to do I want a silkscreen print of Camper Kart or a photo? I wish I could fund the whole thing. I can’t wait to see the results. Good luck Kevin!

Vacation!

Nothing like a vacation to whip you in to shape. I love to make sure all the things I have been procrastinating on are done before I go away so I don’t have anything hanging over my head. The list has included the regular…cleaning and organizing, laundry, finish and ship orders, and the big one – consignment items for Magpie. I am so pleased to cross Magpie off my list! This little charmer will be available in Somerville, Ma very soon:

And a big thank you goes to my dad for offering me his Boston Whaler for the week. How lucky am I? I can’t wait.
